John Murray

Tourism and economic development

John Murray has been in the consulting business since 1982, working for leading Canadian consulting firms including IBI Group, Peter Barnard Associates, Canada Consulting Cresap, and from early 1991 to early 2000, as a founding Partner of The Randolph Group. John specializes in providing strategic planning, organization, business planning, and program/project evaluation services in the tourism/hospitality sector, as well as for economic development consulting projects.

His clients have included economic development corporations, municipal and regional economic development departments and agencies, Community Futures development corporations, all levels of government, tourist associations, destination marketing organizations, airlines, airports, hotel chains, individual hotels and resorts, tour operators, railways, ferry services, other public agencies, First Nations, and various not-for-profit organizations.

John's economic development and tourism/hospitality industry consulting practice has involved him in projects throughout Northern and Southern Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba, British Columbia, and Yukon.

Involved in all aspects of the planning and development, marketing and operations of package tour programs across Canada, in the United States, and overseas. Overall responsibility for negotiating contracts and rates with numerous airlines, cruise lines, hotels and resorts, tour and excursion operators, guide services, restaurants and other suppliers.
